I’ve always loved the creative possibilities of clay. Who else remembers their first school pottery class? I made a rather clumsy panda (my father still has it to this day) and my passion for ceramics was born.
I loved art, design (and maths!) all the way through school and went on to study 3D Design Specialising in Ceramics at degree level. I followed this up with a Masters in Design at Central St Martins and am currently working towards a PhD in Ceramic Manufacture in Nottingham.
I have created a broad spectrum of work in this time, ranging from gothic rollers, sound horns, other studio ceramics, and floor and wall tiles. My work can be found in public and private collections both nationally and internationally.
Current work is focused on the production of ceramic tiles where the pattern is constructed and adapted using computer algorithms. I like to use existing motifs and traditional techniques as a starting point and then by adaptation push the familiar into the surprising and unexpected.
Looking to add that wow factor to your space? I’d love to hear from you. I’ll work with you to create a design you love – and I promise it won’t contain any pandas!
